Single-Day Series: Waterfall (March 31st)

Spaceship Earth peaking out from behind a frozen-in-time waterfall in Moana’s Journey of Water, the newish interactive attraction in what we used to call EPCOT’s Future World. (And what I still call Future World since there’s no good name for that whole side anymore...) As temperatures are finally slowly warming around here, I’m starting to think about how nice this is going to be to visit again come summer.

We’ve done photographs before where I used an extended shutter to capture the blurred movement of water, like Oh, Canada and Lodge Waterfall. Here we did just the opposite—I sped the shutter to a quick 1/1000 seconds to freeze these ripples in mid-air. Set my aperture to f/6.3 to soften the foreground a tiny bit but still keep SSE crisp and get decent light despite the quick shutter. ISO settled at 320, so glad I didn’t bother to push the shutter any faster. I like the softly frozen effect that we got at 1/1000 seconds.
