Single-Day Series: Lodge Waterfall (February 13th)

Two in a row from the same place??

I knew I'd want to share this one too so figured might as well do them back-to-back. It's hard not to want to hang out at Wilderness Lodge on an 85 degree February afternoon.

I actually ran back to the resort yesterday to retake a photo that I'd loved the day before but that wasn't set up exactly like I'd wanted. I'm lucky to be close enough for that sort of follow up.

And I'm happy that I went back, because I ended up finding this new angle that captures the greenery and waterfall in the foreground and the towering sections of the resort in the distance even better than the shot I'd gone back to reproduce.

It will be 87 degrees here today so I hope you can feel the sunshine through this photo.

Shot at 35mm and slowed my shutter down to 1/8 sec (hand held! patting my steady hand on the back...) to capture the soft movement of the water. Everything else that I did was to tamp down the resulting light/exposure—cranked my aperture up to f/16 and set my ISO down to 50.
