For twenty years, we had Illuminations. On the last night of that nighttime show, I stood and cried my eyes out knowing I'd never see it again. Since then, I've admittedly been waiting for something else to come back and tug at my heart in the same way. 

I think Luminous might be that show. And years from now, knowing that this picture was taken on its opening night—the first time seeing it, from the bridge between France and the United Kingdom pavilion—is going to mean something.
