There are a handful of attractions that I can ride, take a deep breath, and just center myself while the rest of the world falls away—a sensation I seem to need more and more these days. Living with the Land, Pirates, Spaceship Earth...but nothing comes close to this. This slow moving track I've been riding since I was a little girl. The details might change, but the heart of it always stays the same.
Took this with my 50mm while moving in pretty extreme dark conditions so grabbing enough light was a trick. Shot at f/1.2, 1/100 seconds, ISO 800—then edited with a very liberal hand to remove distractions. The result feels something like an Edward Hopper painting to me. And I love that you can still see Tink's line reaching away from the castle in the distance. I used to think it broke the spell to leave it in pictures but I’ve come to feel the opposite.
