Have you ever rented the Surrey Bikes that are available around Boardwalk or Old Key West? We did it once, years ago. It was me, my mom, and the kids. They were much much younger and both just sat in front with their legs dangling while my mom and I pedaled.
When we first started they told us we could go around the Boardwalk area twice and my mom and I were talking about how they probably wouldn't even notice if we did an extra loop. And then the hills started! I'd run a half marathon that morning and was kind of tired already. It was just me and my mother pumping the pedals while the kids just sat in front of us and had the time of their lives. Every time we had to go up one of the big hills, by Swan & Dolphin or near International Gateway, I had to get out and push us from behind. It was exhausting.
And as it turned out, we did not try to do an unauthorized third loop. Instead, we very gratefully turned it over after loop number two. Must also have formed a core memory too, though, because it's almost a decade later and I'm still talking about it.
I love the way they look all lined up and colorful like this. These were at Old Key West. I shot them with my 50mm, f/4, 1/800 seconds, ISO 100.
