Yesterday we were on the overlook by Harambe, and today we're still lingering there, shifting our gaze over a bit to the Tree of Life. The sun was setting and just behind the Tree at this point. We were deep into golden hour and, by dropping my f/stop all of the way down to 16, I was able to create this gorgeous starburst of the sun peaking through the branches. Where the bright light meets the dark foliage, the lens creates a magenta color. Some photographers avoid this but I sort of love when it happens. The colors in the final image look almost like magic.
Taken with my Leica D-Lux 8 at about a 30mm equivalent, 1/500 second, f/16, ISO 2000.
