Single-Day Series: Scaffold (August 1st)

When I was roaming Wilderness Lodge around sunrise last weekend, I snapped this photo, but when I got back to the room and started to go through everything and make edits, I quickly wrote it off. The framing was what I’d wanted, not a soul in sight...but that scaffolding wasn’t going anywhere.

But then I shared that set of photos—and of everything from that day, this got the most love.

And I got to thinking, maybe the scaffolding doesn’t ruin it? From a purely aesthetic perspective, it just adds some clean, unexpected geometry. And from a symbolic point of view...this is Disney. They, like us, are always in a constant state of change, renewal, upkeep, and redesign. Nothing here is stagnant. Like Disneyland and us, “it will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

In short, I decided that you were right and I was wrong. The scaffolding is more than fine.

Settings were pretty simple for this: 45mm, 1/60 seconds, f/8.0, ISO 100.
