I think this is one of those "worth 1,000 words" situations. You don't need me to tell you anything about this photo unless you're curious about the process of how it was taken. You know exactly where I am. You know how it sounds and how it looks and how the air feels. You know the music and the script and the places where water might jump up and splash you. And do you ever know how it smells.
This image was a labor of love—taken dozens of times to get just the moment and angle and settings, which ended up being 50mm, 1/50 seconds, f/1.2 (shocking, I know...), and ISO 20000. (Yes, that’s the right number of zeros.) Went into an absolute black hole on edits but obsessed with the result, which looks as much like an oil painting as something that came out of a high tech piece of equipment.
