Let's head over to the entrance of EPCOT today.
These crystal clear pylons were installed in 2020 as a part of EPCOT’s transformation project—but they’re actually a reimagining of the originals that stood when the park first opened in 1982. They’re over 16 feet tall each, and etched with the EPCOT logo, five interlocking circles representing EPCOT’s original themes of community, creativity, technology, and nature, united by the 5th circle, the central hub of EPCOT itself.
I love how they reflect the facets of Spaceship Earth behind them. Depending on the angle, you’ll see the geodesic panels echoed in the glass, the sky breaking into shards, or even your own reflection. It's all a part of the story.
