Thought I'd mix it up this morning with something a little niche...something a little less about taking in the view and a little more about a very special moment on a very special ride. Emerging out of the pitch black darkness into Space Mountain on the TTA, a voice overhead tells you they're "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow," while the two tracks of the coaster climb alongside you.
Little known fact (but I bet you might know it!!)—the two tracks on Space Mountain are called Alpha and Omega. They're nearly identical, but Alpha rounds the outer bend and so is a wee bit longer (by about 10 feet) than Omega.
My camera had to pull some tricks to get this shot as well lit as it seems here. Shutter speed at 1/50 seconds despite our moving vehicle, aperture opened wide to f/1.2, and ISO at an eye-watering 16000. Handled the rest in post-processing.
The end result? A better look than you'll ever get with your naked eye at the details here. I was excited for you to see it.
