Thought it was time for this beauty today. But what do you even write about it? It's Pirates. It's iconic. This scene is one of the main standouts to me and I've tried to capture it 1000 times as we round past it on our way to Captain Jack and the exit. And this photograph of it..let's just say it wasn't easy to get from there to what's on your screen right now, but it was a labor of love.
If you know what this scene looks like in real life and anything about photography, you know this was a trick to capture and edit. Not surprisingly, my camera settings were very, very "drink in all available light while moving" focused—shot with my beloved 50mm prime, 1/100 sec, f/1.2, ISO 6400.
If you're like me, you can smell this just by looking at it (which feels weird to type, but you know what I mean...). There's just something about that pirate water that takes us all capital "H", Home.
Spoiler alert: A lot of the Disney water scent can be attributed to the bromine, instead of chlorine, that they use to keep it clean. And then on Pirates they layer on more scents that smell to me like rum and fire.
