Single-Day Series: French Skyline (May 9th)

We've been wandering around this area most of the week but we haven't looked over here yet. Talk about a view that's changed in recent years. The foreground done up in flowers as usual, especially during the Flower & Garden festival, but then the Skyliner, which opened in September 2019, and the Ratatouille area of the France pavilion, which opened in October 2021, are both prominent in the background.

The Skyliner was such a cool and functional addition to property. It doesn't just connect areas that were much less accessible before—Art of Animation, Pop, Caribbean Beach, Riviera, all of the EPCOT resorts, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios; but it does so in an incredibly efficient manner, moving thousands of guests every hour without burning an ounce of fuel, all while managing to add rather than take away from the overall theming of the areas it passes through. Suddenly spaces like this and Hourglass Lake between Pop and Art of Animation have these bright, colorful, themed gondolas moving overhead and adding to the overall ambiance of the place.

This was taken with my 50mm and then cropped in to this portion of the frame. Settings were f/4, 1/320 seconds, ISO 100.
