Single-Day Series: Florida Native (September 24th)

This White Ibis was at DAK the other morning, but I'm relatively certain he was just stopping by to say hello. What a cool place for an animal to be able to visit as a Florida native.

Native American lore says that the Ibis has a keen sense for danger. They are the last to take shelter before a hurricane arrives and the first to emerge after it passes. You'll see them gathered in large groups whenever a storm is imminent. Present always except for when they absolutely need to attend to their own safety.

In a world full of ostriches with their heads in the sand, be an Ibis.

Taken at 400mm, 1/800 second, f/6.3, ISO 800.
