I'm feeling a little nostalgic this morning as the kids head back to school. My older son is starting 10th grade and my younger is starting 7th, so I'm feeling a little misty-eyed over the days when we ended our nights holding them as we all watched the fireworks on Main Street together.
This is also the 8 year anniversary of our move to Florida...so yeah...all the feels today.
I was set up on my tripod to catch the fireworks with an extended shutter and caught these anonymous children on their fathers' shoulders, too. I know there are mixed feelings about whether or not this is impolite...but as far as my photograph is concerned, they were perfect. Just a lovely part of the story this picture is telling late at night on Main Street, U.S.A.
I was shooting at 35mm, 15 seconds, f/16, ISO 100.
