Single-Day Series: English Gardens (December 10th)

Please forgive me for choosing something simple today, but with all of the grand images of the last few days (weeks?) and the chaos leading up to the holidays, today I was craving something quieter. We often enter and exit EPCOT through International Gateway, so these gardens at the tail end of the U.K. Pavilion are usually the first and last things we see. They make me think of after school outings and weekends with the kids. I see this and I can hear British Revolution playing at the back of the pavilion, see Alice chatting with park-goers under the arbor nearby and Daisy meeting excited children near the lagoon across the way. I remember ducking into Rose & Crown on hot summer days for fish & chips and a drink. It's our path into and out of the park we visit the most and so, like so many views that I share, this simple photo calls up such a bigger, multi-sensory set of memories.

Taken at around 40mm, 2 seconds, f/2.2, ISO 100.
