The next time you’re sprinting into Animal Kingdom to rope drop Flight of Passage or hit Kilimanjaro Safaris, slow down a little near the entrance after you tap in and keep your eyes peeled for unexpected movement in the foliage.

This is DiVine. She’s not on any official schedule. You can’t make plans to find her. She just moves slowly into view and blends into the scenery, only detectable with the slightest and slowest of movements. She stands on stilts, covered in vines and leaves, flowers and fruit, and if you aren’t looking at just the right moment you might miss her entirely.

DiVine feels like the forest decided to stretch and breathe for a moment—a living embodiment of DAK’s message, greeting you just as you enter and joining us with the natural world.

I was walking into the park specifically to see Bakso on Tuesday morning when I stumbled on her. I already had my 100-400mm on my camera so was shooting with that and it worked just fine, giving some dreamy compression to the photographs that makes her blend right into the wooded area behind her. My settings were 135mm, 1/50 second, f/5.6, ISO 400.
