Festival of the Arts started at EPCOT on Friday and I'd planned on kicking off the week with shots from that most colorful celebration, but truth told the weather has been so frigid that I haven't had a satisfying walkabout with my camera yet. What I have done is enjoy the warmth and scenery inside Spaceship Earth. And I've been wanting to share a shot like this since nearly the beginning. So I decided today was the day.
This is one of those "if you know, you know" views. I remember being a little girl and seeing these rods of fiber-optic light during the final descent on Spaceship Earth and thinking they were so beautiful. I've probably watched them roll by, forming different lines and shapes as our angle of view changes, hundreds of times. I can hear the music and Dame Judy Dench (and the others before her). And then that series of questions where you design your future. I share a lot of photographs here, but this is one I'll be getting on canvas to hang on my own wall. As a longtime EPCOT lover, few views bring me as much peace as this one.
Taken at 35mm, 1/50 second, f/2.0, ISO 5000, and denoised gently in edits.
