It's been too long since we stopped by Port Orleans. I was wandering close to sunrise recently and grabbed this, almost as an afterthought, but then got home and realized it was one of my favorite images of the morning. The directional signpost, crisp and clear in the foreground, pointing me toward all of my favorite parts of Riverside, and one lamppost in the background casting a warm glow onto the (purposefully) overgrown foliage around it.
I see this and I can feel the early morning heat and moisture in the air, hear the sounds of the resort first waking up, and maybe even smell some beignets in the distance. (I know, I know, they're all the way over at French Quarter—but my imagination has a keen sense of smell.) I remember seeing this signpost first thing in the morning with the kids as we made our way from our room to the main building to grab some breakfast and head to the parks for the day, so this whole scene just feels like memories of slow, cozy mornings and anticipation for the day ahead.
