Single-Day Series: A Spot by the Water (July 22nd)

We're embracing a little theme this week. I spent the weekend at Boulder Ridge at Wilderness Lodge, and it's inspired me revisit some of my favorite pictures from there.

Do you recognize this spot? It's the cushy seats by the water just beyond Geyser Point. You can grab a drink or something to eat from the restaurant and take it over here and eat by Bay Lake with a little bit of a breeze and a lot of peace.

It almost forces you to unwind. You can't exactly sit on a computer over here. Even the phone gets forgotten. Instead the boats in the distance running back and forth between the resorts, Fort Wilderness, and Magic Kingdom are the only real entertainment other than an occasional bird or Geyser Point-loving squirrel or bunny. It's just peace. Slow-paced, peace.

I took this at sunrise one morning. You can still see bits of dew (or perhaps an overnight shower?) here and there. Taken at 35mm, f/8, 1/200 seconds, ISO 100. Pretty simple settings, really, which seems appropriate.
