A little scene to start your day today. Let's say you've been in the parks all day. You're exhausted. The kids are cranky. You'd meant to stick it out for the parade (since we finally have one again!) and fireworks but no one is up for it and you know it wouldn't be worthwhile. So you call it a night and get everyone back to the room. The kids are settled. You've washed up. You can see the park across the way and half wish you were still there but you're at least glad you sprang for the theme park view at the Contemporary. It hits 9pm and you're the only one still awake when the booms start and you slide out onto the balcony to take it all in.
Suddenly you're not so sad that you called it a night early. This view, alone in your pajamas with the soundtrack in earshot and your kids tucked into bed, beats anything on Main Street—at least for tonight.
Shot with my beloved 50mm and a rock steady tripod, 15 seconds at f/11 and ISO 100, and edited into absolute submission.
