Yesterday I shared the famous Torii Gate at Miyajima. Today it's Wild Wednesday, so I'm sharing another special detail about this island.
There are wild deer. Everywhere. When you first get off the ferry and see them lounging about and trying to steal food from the visitors who are prohibited from feeding them, you can't stop looking at them and taking their pictures. By the time you're ready to leave, they're just a part of the landscape. A reason to hold your snacks a little tighter while you laugh and shoo them away. By the time I walked by this one, she was just a peaceful part of the backdrop.
I didn't think about it until later, but it's funny that the "closed" sign is written in English. I guess we were the ones who needed telling.
